Oquirrh Mountain Temple Trip

We had such a great trip to the temple with the young women last week. One of the temple workers shared some thoughts with us before the girls were baptised. He told us that there were a few things we could be perfect in during this life. One of those things was always being a worthy temple recommend holder. I loved that thought! 

Hey, so I'm adding this really cool poem that I wrote that I think is inspirational and inspired! Hope you guys enjoy!

Come to Me

Once there was a little bird

Who could not leave the ground

He could not fly, he could not sing

He never made a sound

The ravens cawed their great guffaws

The sparrows were twittering

The little bird, he tried so hard

But fell and broke his wing

And so he left his little nest

To find the Master’s House

The one who made each leaf and tree

Each flow’r and bird and mouse

He finally found the Master’s door

And hopped into the room

He saw the Master sitting there

His smile split the gloom

“My child, what can I do for you?”

His voice was soft and kind.

The bird, he stopped, and took a breath

To speak his troubled mind.

“Master, I know that You love me

And made me who I am.

I cannot fly, I cannot sing,

Is that part of Your plan?

The ravens caw their great guffaws

Their laughter makes me moan

Roosters crow and I cry inside

You left me all alone!”

“My child,” He said, “I never left,

I stayed right by your side.

I was there as you made mistakes,

I was there when you cried.

I was there through all your pain,

You suffered next to me.

You could have left it all behind

If you had come to Me.”

And so he went, and left his pain.

And though he could not fly,

His heart was light, he did not care

What other birds would cry.

And since his heart was light and free

An outpour of song came

His melody was great and bright

And praised the Master’s name
